The Purpose of the Program:
The aim of this program is to educate professionals capable of interpreting the written prescriptions of specialized opticians and provide clients with glasses, contact lenses, various types of optical equipments, glass frames, protective glasses, and sunglasses in compliance with the patients’ needs. Having also been trained as competent managers of this field, the graduates of this program could be employed as responsible managers in the sector or commence their own business.
The Content of the Education Opticianry programme curriculum is formed bythe Opticianry Law No. 5193 and related regulations to carry out the duties and powers specified quality required for the cultivation of opticians, consists of theoretical lessons and practice. The information given in theoretical courses is equipped with modern machinery and equipment .In Opticianry Lab manual and automatic glass cutting machines lens cutting, focometer in glasses measurement, single-oriented and very focused on glass, prismatic glass assembly of organic glasses coloration of like applications is done. Besides, professional experience is provided by means of practical training in the optical industry.

Postgraduate Employment Opportunities:
Graduate students will gain a title of optician after implementing job-training, practice and internships within the framework of the principles and procedures determined by the Board of Higher Education
Graduates of the program earn the title of Optician will be able to open their own optician stores, as well as take a position of manager in optical retail companies. In addition, opticians can work in enterprises which produce and sell glasses.
